Welcome to KAZ Possums Child Care Centre
We understand that placing your child in child care is an important decision and as such, we feel privileged to play an integral role in your child’s learning and development with KAZ Possums Child Care Centre.
Our aim is to function as an extended family in order to provide your child with the security, warmth and love which are essential to their development and growth.
Our professional and dedicated educators provide a program that enables children to learn through exploration and stimulating experiences. We aspire to create an environment that provides enjoyable and creative learning. This is achieved through activities designed to support your child in all areas of growth.
Our Services
KAZ Possums is a 46 place Child Care Centre, with 2 rooms from 2 years to 6 years (including a pre school room). We have an intentional learning program. We operate 5 days per week, 49 weeks per year, hours are from 8am to 5.30pm.
We also run several other Child Care Centres across NSW. In Dolans Bay we have KAZ Early Learning Centre, and in the Southern Highlands we have Kamalei who run separate Preschool and Early Years child care centres.
Curriculum
Gymnastics Program
KAZAROO is a gross motor skills program that aims to build confidence, endurance, hand-eye coordination, concentration and body awareness. The program will focus on skills such as running, jumping, hopping, galloping, skipping, balancing, climbing, throwing, catching and striking. This will be achieved through games, parachuting activities and obstacle courses.
Dance Program
The children will be shown various styles of dancing, some of what they learn will even be showcased for the parents.
Music and Singing Program
The children will be guided through an exploration of various instruments and learn how to play basic tunes on them. They will learn to sing along whilst playing the instruments.
Language Program
Exploring the language and culture of the following countries: Greece, China, New Zealand and Australia (with emphasis on our aboriginal heritage).
Computer Skills Program
The goal of this program is to teach the children the purpose and use of a mouse, the difference between hardware and software and how to take care for a computer.
Basic Cooking Skills Program
The aim of this program is to introduce the children to different styles of cooking. The children will have the opportunity to cook their own food using basic recipes.
Pre-school Readiness Program
Designed to stimulate children’s thinking, communicating, investigating, exploring and problem solving skills.
Sustainability Programs
Our curriculum explores ways of being connected to the land; gardens, animals, growing our own food, responsible use of water and energy, minimising waste, recycling, and environmental health – reducing chemical use. The children will also have the opportunity to care for chickens from the time they are eggs in an incubator to when they are grown and living in our onsite coop.
